Nikwax Rug Proof

Nikwax Rug Proof adds Durable Water Repellency (DWR) whilst maintaining breathability. It is quick and easy to apply in the washing machine, and its DWR develops on air drying.

Washing machine directions:

For best results always clean the rug first with Nikwax Rug Wash. No need to dry item(s) before waterproofing. It is vital that rugs are washed and rinsed thoroughly. Shake well before use. Follow care label instructions.

1. Remove all detergent build-up from the detergent dispenser.
2. Place the clean rug in the washing machine.
3. Use 500 ml for 1 rug. Treat 1 rug per load.
4. Run 30°C cotton cycle.

Air dry or tumble dry on a low setting if the care label allows.

Hand washing directions:

For best results always clean the rug first with Nikwax Rug Wash. No need to dry item(s) before waterproofing. It is vital that rugs are washed and rinsed thoroughly. Shake well before use. Follow care label instructions.

1. Wear gloves. Use 500 ml for 1 rug, with 10 litres of hand-hot water in a vessel.
2. Agitate to mix, push down into vessel so that whole rug is immersed.
3. Add a further 15 litres of warm water to cover the rug and agitate.
4. Leave to soak for 2 hours, agitating occasionally.
5. Rinse in cold water until water runs clear.

Air dry or tumble dry on a low setting if the care label allows.
